Medico-Legal Services

I am an expert witness in Obstetrics and Gynaecology and my areas of expertise include intra-partum events, birth trauma, shoulder dystocia, cerebral palsy, perineal tears & trauma, failed female sterilisation and complications of gynaecological and obstetric surgery. I receive instructions from Solicitors for both plaintiff and the defence. The turn around time for reports is between 8 and 12 weeks. Terms and Conditions of Engagement are available on request.

I hold a Certificate in Medical Law from the University of Glasgow and a Masters degree in Medical Law from the Northumbria University, Newcastle. I have received training in Expert Statement and Report Writing, and in Giving Evidence. I am listed in The Expert Witness, UK Register of Expert Witnesses and a member of The North of England Medico-Legal society.

I was a Performance Assessor in Obstetrics and Gynaecology for the General Medical Council and I currently sit on the Fitness to Practice Panel of the General Medical Council.

I provide support for doctors facing NHS and other disciplinary investigations or doctors with professional difficulties. I am trained as a mediator in the workplace.
